Amulets and Talismans

Does an amulet or talisman have power?

I believe so, but we cannot be 100% dependent on it.
Some people are almost in a state of anxiety if they lose (or forget) their talisman.
In my view, an amulet or talisman (hereinafter explain the difference between them) has protective or cumulative energy, but it is a support. The greatest power always resides with you, always remember that and I trust the power of your own magnetism, your high state of mind is the greatest protection.

Differences between Amulet and Talisman:

Amulet:
From the Latin amuletum, object of luck, sacred image, the amulet differs from a talisman because it must always be used for protection, whereas the talisman is consecrated for a certain purpose and used during this period.

Talisman:
Derives from Arabic tilasm or tillasm (magical image) or from Hebrew tselem (image), in Greek teleo means to consecrate. It differs from the amulet, because the talisman is consecrated for use only in a specific ritual or ceremony.

There are those who claim that the amulet is passive, coming raw from nature, like crystals, wood or natural metals, animal components like horns and bones, the amulet is not created by hands. Talisman is active, created to change. It is necessary to set a specific spell (usually what you want is protection, healing, prosperity or any other purpose.)

A noble metal talisman (be it stainless steel, silver or gold) can accumulate energy, if it is ritualized periodically, and provides support for spiritual protection.

Some use natural amulets (varied crystals) around their necks.

A talisman operates in different ways together:

Symbology:
All symbols (Hebrew letters, hexagrams, ankh, Latin names etc.) mean something to the wearer, which reinforce your subconscious and feeling of confidence. Symbols transcend the language barrier. In addition, it removes disincarnated entities that have respect to these symbols.

Energy accumulator:
A talisman made of noble material (steel, gold or silver) is formed by atoms that vibrate and as everything emits an energy field, every object has its astral counterpart. The talisman that is ritualized and charged periodically, accumulates energy and its astral counterpart is connected to the user's astral body.
Some amulets can have the opposite effect, absorbing negative energies from the user (as protection) thus being energy catalysts. Later you should purify it.

Entity bearer:
Some magicians under certain rituals managed to put spirits on objects, in fact the spirit does not enter an object (talisman, amulet, ring) as the legends say in grimoires. What happens is that the entity radiates a portion of its energy over the amulet, and is connected to it.

Cultural adornment:
The talisman is also an adornment and conveys to other people that its wearer is a student of the occult arts, also subliminally conveys the message “Don't mess with me, I know certain things”. Or it transmits that you are a member initiated in some cult.

This is my view on the subject, other authors may have different opinions, depending on what they have read and their  life experiences.
