Occult TV shows

In this post I leave some suggestions for series (Netflix, and other channels).
Each person will obviously have personal preferences, some like some series and others don't, but the objective was to list the various series that address the occult and paranormal.
Any film or series always has sensationalism and fiction, the spells and rituals in reality do not produce effects as instantaneous and amazing as on TV, but these series are always fascinating to watch.
Sometimes they teach important tips on mythology, contain quotes from books or subliminal messages, whoever is a keen observer will absorb these messages.

Charmed:

This series of three witch sisters was fun and full of mysticism, aired on TV between 1998 and 2006, had 8 seasons, produced by The WB Network (short for Warner Brothers). A remake came out in 2018, but it doesn't have the same fun and it gets monotonous.

Supernatural:

This series is classic, it is aired for several years and has 15 seasons.
The Winchester brothers are monster hunters and investigators of the paranormal, obviously the series has a lot of fantasy, but some interesting points I found:
They promote Aleister Crowley's Thelema immensely, in one of the series the type logo was a hexagram used in thelema, that symbol appeared in immense books and at the beginning of the series, there is still the demon Crowley who ruled hell.
At the end of the 14th season we can see "God" a little perverse, for him, we are just another world created by him, a type of game for him to pass the time, I got the feeling that they want to convey that this god who created the our world is the false god of gnosis: Demiurge.

Once Upon a Time:

It premiered in October 2011, ending in May 2018, on ABC, had 7 seasons.
The series follows several fairy tale characters who were brought to the real world and had their original memories stolen by a powerful curse.

The Originals:

Premiered in October 2013, with 5 seasons in all, this very good series tells the story of the original vampire family (the Mikaelson).
It was a spin-off produced by The CW and based on the North American series The Vampire Diaries.
The series has a lot of occult and witchcraft that takes place in New Orleans, where there are witches, voodoo practitioners, some spells in the series demonstrate real procedures (with blood, voodoo dolls etc.), obviously mix some fantasy, witches against vampires and werewolves, engaging stories and many philosophical quotes from books.

Legacies:

This series is a spin-off of "The Originals", as it tells the story of the teenage Hope Mikaelson, daughter of the vampire Klaus, has supernatural powers and is a hybrid witch.
The series debuted in October 2018 on "The CW". Hope Mikaelson is a teenager, powerful witch with supernatural powers who attends a "Salvatore School" school where more students with psychic powers, vampires, werewolves, etc, appear . There are already 4 season’s.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina:

Famous Netflix series, follows the same wave of Legacies, but here this blonde teenager is a witch who, belonging to a family of witches and had to sign the book of shadows (blood pact) with the darkness lord, she will try to fight evil in the name of love and friendship.
The series has a lot of allusion to Satanism, black and blood magick quite often and necromancy too, the figurine of Baphomet appears frequently in their coven "Church of Night", so much so that "The Satanic Temple" in real life wanted to claim compensation Netlfix for image rights.
This series is inspired by the comic books, the series was produced by Warner Brothers in association with Berlanti Pr oductions. Four seasons.

Salem:

It premiered in April 2014 on the WGN channel, it was one of my favorite series, it depicts the village of Salem where many witches were chased and burned in the 17th century. Series full of engaging mysticism, witchcraft, has had three seasons and unfortunately has not been renewed.
Mary Sibley, one of the main and powerful witch, in the last season had to face the son she had begotten (John), who was archangel Samael reincarnated.
The series has interesting quotes and philosophies about Eden, the origin of humanity, God, the forces of good and evil.

Constantine:

Series based on the comic "Hellblazer" created by Alan Moore, maybe in the movie Constantine too. The series (as happened to many) had a season , but was later canceled for renewal, but this character Constantine appeared in several episodes of the series "DC legends of Tomorrow" season 4.
When he starts making invocations in Latin and tracing luminous magickal sigils in the air, he resembles "Dr Strange" from the Marvel movies.

Penny Dreadful:

This British HBO series has had 2 seasons, it is said that there will be another.
The name is inspired by old horror newspapers that were sold in England, in the 19th century, and cost 1 cent, hence the name "penny" (cent) and Dreadful (terrible, scary).
The series shows famous fictional characters such as dr Frankenstein, Van Helsing, Dorian Gray, among others, also appear witches, werewolves.

Light as a Feather:

It is an American supernatural thriller web series, based on the book of the same name by Zoe Aarsen, which debuted on October 12, 2018, on Hulu. The series was created by R. Lee Fleming, Jr .. It reminds us a little of the movie "The craft", which also had teenage girls who got involved with the occult and witchcraft.
Five teenage girls as they deal with the supernatural consequences of an innocent game “Light as a Feather, Stiff as a Board.” When they begin to die exactly as predicted, survivors must find out why they are being hit - and if the force of evil that hunts them is one of them.
It has 2 seasons so far.

Midnight Texas:

American supernatural series broadcast by NBC, based on books by author Charlaine Harris. It started in July 2017.
It portrays the life of the inhabitants of a small town inhabited by vampires, witches, assassins, a fallen angel and other individuals with supernatural origins. Manfred Bernardo is a psychic and constantly sees the spirit of his deceased grandmother, who gives him information. He has the power to repel supernatural entities.
It ended in December 2018 having only 2 seasons.

Diablero:

Aired in December 2018, the name Diablero is Mexican, or Latin for a wizard, exorcist, sorcerer.
It is a kind of Mexican "Constantine", Diablero Elvis Infante tries to avoid the apocalypse. The supernatural Mexican series was broadcast on Netflix, based on Francisco Haghenbeck's book "El Diablo me obligó" (the Devil forced Me).
At the moment 2 seasons are known, it is not known if there will be another one.

Wynonna Earp:

It premiered in April 2016 on the Syfy channel. This series I find difficult to describe, it seems to me a mixture of "Supernatural" that had two demon hunters brothers, here are two sisters, and it has some similarities with the series " Van Helsing " that was a hunter of vampires and demons .
But Wynonna is a kind of western, a badass gunfighter that has a "peacemaker" pistol that manages to send demons to Hell, the city where they live is Purgatory.
The series is interesting, engaging, has had 4 seasons.

Emerald City:

Fantasy series broadcast by NBC based on the OZ book series (Wizard of Oz, Land of Oz).
It premiered in January 2017. I found the series interesting, the actress Adria Arjona (playing nurse Dorothy Gale) went to a parallel world in another dimension; Emerald City, where meets the wizard of Oz.
In the series there is a witch of the North "Glinda" and the witchcraft scenes have very interesting special effects, I liked the story of the series, unfortunately there were no more seasons. There was only one season, they say the problem was the audiences, but there are rumors that there were differences between the production and Josh Friedman.

American Gods:

American series from the Starz channel, based on the novel by Neil Gaiman. It debuted in April 2017, had two nominations for Primetime Emmy Awards.
The series focuses on Shadow Moon, a man serving three years in prison. With a few days to go until his sentence ends, Shadow ends up being released unexpectedly after his beloved wife, Laura, is killed. Later, Shadow finds himself next to a man named Wednesday (who is actually the god Odin).
In this series, several mythological gods emerge, these ancient gods are losing power because humanity ceases to worship them and starts to worship technology as a kind of new divinity (internet, television, the media, technical boy and mr World).
Ancient gods and entities appear as an Irish leprechaun (Mad Sweeney), Bilquis appears who is a Jinn from Arab mythology (Queen of Sheba), Czernobog who in Slavic mythology is a divinity of light and sun (Bielebog), among others.

Shadowhunters:

This series was very good, with an excellent soundtrack, good effects, and a great ending. Beautiful actresses.
It debuted in January 2016 and had 4 seasons, based on the literary series The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare, developed for television by Ed Decter. It portrays the life of the young Clary Fray completely changes when she discovers that she is part of a race of humans that hunt demons and have angel blood, the Shadow Hunters (there was also the film) have magical runes tattooed on their bodies, each rune awakens a power.
The series is filled with vampires, werewolves, witches, wizards and other characters.
The opening song is "This Is the Hunt" performed by Ruelle, and written by Maggie Eckford and Jeff Bowman especially for the series.
In December 2015, Netflix acquired worldwide rights to show Shadowhunters, excluding the U.S., making the series available as an original series the day after its North American debut.

The Order:

The Order is an American television series of supernatural horror and drama created by Dennis Heaton and Shelley Eriksen that premiered on Netflix on March 7, 2019.
Student Jack Morton joins an initiatory order: Hermetic Order of the Blue Rose.
As Jack delves into the organization's history, he discovers dark family secrets and an underground battle between werewolves and the arts of magical darkness. A second season but will not be renewed.

Being Human:

I didn't see the British series, only the American, so it is this version of the American remake that I will talk about. Broadcast on the Syfy channel.
A vampire, a ghost and a werewolf share the same apartment. The series uses a little comedy and drama to show the three characters trying to live in harmony in a "normal" way, in a world that disowns them.
I particularly liked the story of Sally Malik, the girl who was a spirit, who was trapped in the house without being able to get out, she was unable to manipulate matter (move objects) and had to learn to be noticed. Later he met a ghost Tony, who taught him some tricks, and teleport to other places.

Locke & Key:

This series has Netflix quality and good effects, premiered in February 2020, but is already involved in controversy and accused of copying another series (The Haunting of Hill House).
In its first episodes, it mixes horror and fantasy classics.
The series follows the journey of the Locke family, who moves to Key House, an old mansion located in Massachusetts, after the assassination of Patriarch Rendell. Facing the strangeness of arriving in a new place after losing a loved one, mother Nina and her children discover that their home is full of magical keys that confer supernatural powers on those who use them. However, these powers wake up an old evil that starts to haunt the new residents.
Adaptation of the comic of Joe Hill and drawn by Gabriel Rodriguez.

Dracula:

2020 miniseries. Developed by Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat, based on the novel of the same name by Bram Stoker.
I found it quite interesting to have made a remake of Dracula, the story is interesting, good special effects, it is only worth having three episodes only, but they are long (about an hour and a half) which is equivalent to five or six episodes of another series (which have 40-minute episodes).
The series was broadcast and released on BBC One and Netflix.
Now, as it is fashionable to have lesbians and gays in all series, this dracula was a bit bisexual, as he converted a attorney Jonathan Harker into a undead and called him a bride.

Luna Nera:

Another series aired on Netflix. The Italian series was filmed in Rome and reflects the times of witchcraft in the 17th century, premiered in January 2020.
The story is based on the book Luna Nera by Tiziana Triana. The Netflix production follows a 16-year-old midwife named Ade who is accused of witchcraft after the death of a newborn. Afraid, Ade flees to the forest and finds a refuge and shelter in a witch community.

The plot mixes elements of fantasy, science fiction and terror. The first season has six episodes.

I leave a final tip, before watching a series do not rely on the negative reviews that some famous websites (or newspapers) write.
Decide for yourself, watch the s series and formulate your own opinion. Many of them are worth watching.

Moon phases

The phases of the moon, as you must have read in some book, have their importance.

Each lunar phase has an influence, first at a symbolic and subconscious level, and also due to the changes of each lunar phase and its magnetism.

Waning phase, at a symbolic and subconscious level, transmits us something that diminishes, we are on the way to the New moon.
We can do rituals to "dismantle" or cut something, to ward off bad influences.

The phase of the crescent moon conveys something that is going to grow, a stage that is conducive to rituals to attract something, amplify the effect of something.

We know that lunar magnetism influences the tides on Earth, the reproductive cycle of some animals, the lunar cycle of 28 days and the menstrual cycle in women, the human psyche and the human body (which is made up of 75% water) obviously suffer influences too.

Some female deities are associated with the Moon, Hecate, Selene, Artemis, Chandra in Hinduism, Losna for the Etruscans. That is why in some rituals these divinities are invoked.

At each phase of the Moon, the Greeks associated a goddess. Selene more or less corresponded to the Full Moon; Artemis, the Fourth Crescent; and Hecate to the last quarter and the New Moon.

New Moon:

Phase in which the Moon is between the Earth and the Sun, therefore being in conjunction with the Sun. At that time, the unlighted face of the Moon is facing almost directly towards the Earth, so that it is not visible to the naked eye. . At this stage, meditation, introspection is recommended. But after a few days (when the moon is about to leave that phase and appear as a crescent) then sowing and awakening are recommended, spells to start something new in your life, changes, a change of job or situation. Health magic. Good lunar phase for spiritual work to resolve lawsuits held in court. Good stage for ebós (offerings) of spiritual cleansing and counter-spells.

Recommended candle colors: Purple, brown.

Crescent moon:

Phase to grow and evolve. You can do any spell that serves to attract something new, magnify the effect of something. Spells to attract love, friendships, health, luck, employment. Excellent moon to strengthen spirituality with herbal baths.
Colors indicated for candles: Blue.

Full moon:

In addition to being at its peak, representing the goddess, seduces us with its clarity and illuminates the night. Its magnetism is stronger.

You can do, in a similar way to the crescent moon, spells to attract something, amplify the effect of something or reinforce a spell already made previously.
Love or sex spells, health, protection, luck, money, whatever. Magic to attract loved one back.
Recommended candle colors: Red, pink, white.

Waning Moon:

As the decline phase symbolically transmits to us (and the moon is waning) it is a good phase to cut the unwanted in your life, spells to reduce or cut something. It is a good time to work rituals to neutralize negative people or those who are harming us, ward off illnesses, break spells, end relationships, smoke the house, among others.

Colors indicated for candles: orange, black.

The days of the week also have meaning, and astrological correspondence.

Sunday (Sun day) is the day ruled by the Sun. Monday is Moon day. Saturday (Saturn day) day ruled by Saturn.

Monday: This day is under the regency of the Moon, Selene's spiritual forces govern it; in white magic, it is a favorable day for work related to success in love and fertility; in black magick, it is a fundamental day for carrying out mooring work, deviating paths, creating illusions.

Tuesday: This day is ruled by the spiritual strength of Mars. Both in black and white magick, it is therefore a favorable day to perform rituals for the purpose of conquests, matters related to possession, issues of disputes or conflicts.

Wednesday: This day is governed by the spiritual forces of Mercury. That is why it is a favorable time for magical works related to intelligence, mental evolution, travel matters and divination. In black magick, this day can be used in matters of intrigue, lies, falsehoods, thefts, evils of envy or plagues, etc.

Thursday: Day is ruled by Jupiter. All other rituals, therefore, must pass through this day, in order to attract the highly powerful forces that emanate in this period of time. Issues of prosperity, victories and achievements must therefore be reinforced in this chronological period, if not even started on this day.

Friday: This day is ruled by Venus. For this very reason, both in white and black magick, this is the right day for the celebration of works related to love, eroticism, sexuality. Moorings, reconciliations, love conquests, are found on the ruling of this day and its energy. In black magick, together with Monday (Lunar day), these are the dates on which love spells are carried out and reinforced.

Saturday: This day is ruled by Saturn. Saturn is the most fearful of spiritual forces, because with it comes pests, misfortunes, mourning, losses, master of karma and destiny. The power of Saturn's energies is relentless, which is why in white magick this force is moderated in order to create protections, whereas in black magick this force is increased in order to create unstoppable harm.

Sunday: Day ruled by the Sun. If Saturday is the most favorable day for the practice of black magick, Sunday is the opposite, being an ideal day for the practice of white magic. It is therefore recommended that the celebration of white magic works be carried out on this day. It is not a coincidence that Eucharistic Masses, which are held for the purpose of enhancing a strong invocation of light and God, are held on Sunday. Also a veiled way of worshiping the Sun (Sun+day).

To Seduce a Person

Ingredients: A underwear (panties) of the loved one, any color less red. Buy a new red underwear (but don't use it). Clay pot/jar. Sugar.

Procedure:
On a full-moon night, put the two underwear pieces together (the new red underwear and those of the loved one) tie a knot. In your underwear write the person's name, in the new underwear write your own name. Take the two panties tied together and place them in the clay pot, add sugar and water. Leave everything overnight on the outsider, at Luar.
Obviously choose a secluded spot, or a forest, where no one can move.
The next morning, bury everything in a garden. Plant a flower in that place where you buried it.

Questions and Answers

These questions and answers are an overview of what I have received by email from some readers (mostly in Portuguese), the answers reflect my opinion on the topic, other bloggers or students of the occult may have different opinions.

-Most warlocks, psychics, are charlatans?
A: The vast majority of wizards who advertise themselves in newspapers do, aim at profit, it is a business. They promise magical results in record time (bringing loved ones back in 7 days, erasing all karma etc.), charge hundreds or thousands of dollars. Obviously there may be some who are true sorcerers (1% or 5%), but they also know that tampering with magick can have consequences and by interfering with the client's spiritual problems or spiritual entities are infiltrating the problem and will have to take protection (magically) all this involves a lot of work. So they choose the easiest way: charge a lot of money and do absolutely nothing.

Most true wizards and witches with potential, remain anonymous, are natural people who practice magick to correct aspects of their personal lives, in silence, it can be your next-door neighbor, a co-worker, etc.

-A spell always works?
A: Not always, many variants such as: the practitioner's faith and commitment, the energy of the target person, or even what the destination has in store for you, sometimes we go through difficult stages because we have to karmically go through them, from which we will come out reinforced and with corrected karma, for example. But I recommend it; when you really want something, never give up, be persistent, after a while repeat the spells and continue with faith practicing the rituals.
The Universe always observes, will recognize your faith and persistence, sometimes situations are tests of our resistance.

-How to protect myself from black magick?
A: The first step, if you suspect that you are the target of some work, is to do a counter-spell and take spiritual purification baths with herbs, smudging of your home, so in that sense you will also be strengthening your own psyche. Raise your vibration, trust your personal power, dense energies can only affect us if we are in resonance with that vibration, because if we are at a higher frequency such energies (and entities) cannot easily reach us.
There is the placebo effect (when we believe that a common medicine will do us good, the power of our mind makes the body heal, mind over matter) but there is also the nocebo effect. When someone tells us that he has done a hex against us, if we keep thinking about it and going into anxiety, it is our mind that will cause the symptoms (nocebo effect).

It is essential to believe in yourself, that you are above any energetic attack, practice and study magick, do counter-spells, purify yourself regularly, talk to your spirit guides, honor them.

-Is it wrong to do love magick to someone?
A: It is a controversial and extensive topic, it depends on the point of view. I would consider it wrong to do black magic or voodoos, that is so, but I don't divulge black magick on this blog.
There are spells of love (binding spells) that are black magic and force someone to love through suffering (the person suffers anxiety, does not eat or sleep, frogs are used with their mouths tied in these spells etc) ... That I consider negative.
On the other hand, small spells in which candles are lit for someone to attract the person's love, without causing agony, so that later you love that person and give affection and company, it doesn't seem that bad. When you do a love spell, you want to fill a gap in your life, you want to be loved, which is your right, in return you will give love and companionship to the other person, love (not hate, but love).

-In what situations do you consider it fair to use black magick?
A: As a last resort, in an extreme case that someone has done you very badly, you have the right to defend yourself, but the best thing would be to "undo" the work done and the energy goes back (law of return, rule of three) against those who did it , will be enough.

-Can I practice different occult systems?
A: I believe so, if it makes you feel good and gives you knowledge and power.
You can practice Wicca, Candomblé, Shamanism, Gypsy magic, Egyptian magick, sometimes paying homage to Egyptian gods, other times worshiping the Orishas, etc. Whoever is reading this and criticizing, will have to understand the subject better. In the first place, many of the deities who presented themselves to an Egyptian people were the same spiritual deities worshiped by the Greeks, Romans, or Africans, but each people called them by different names.
Anunnakis referred by the Sumerians could be the Neteru Egyptian gods, or the Orishás.
Furthermore, the basic principle of magick is the same, regardless of which ritual or path you follow, the mental concentration, intention, visualization and energetic direction of the ritual towards a purpose, communion with cosmic entities and energies. All witchcraft systems work, it has been practiced for thousands of years since ancient shamanism.
Any method of magick puts energies into motion.
